Livigno

Livigno is nicknamed the Little Tibet. It’s a paradise of nature, sports and shopping.

It’s a tourist resort in the heart of the Italian Alps, a short stroll from Switzerland. Livigno is known for its ski slopes and for the many hiking trails that can be followed during the summer.

Nicknamed “Little Tibet”, it is a paradise of nature, sports and shopping. Here, in the middle of Valtellina and at 1816 meters above the sea level, there are many sports activities: cycling, hiking, trekking, climbing, water sports such as canoeing and kayaking. And then, in winter, snowboarding and skiing: downhill, mountaineering, cross-country skiing. The Mottolino and Carosello lifts welcome at 3000 meters both expert skiers and those who are skiing for the first time. In the valley, thirty kilometers of sunny slopes await cross-country skiers. There are also trails for Nordic walking, climbing on frozen waterfalls and trips on dog sleds. During summer, Livigno becomes the reign of natural tourism: surrounded by 600 kilometers of trails to be covered on foot, by bicycle or by mountain bike and to explore its peaks, the Engadine and the Stelvio Natural Park.

What about shopping? Livigno, with its 250 shops, is an open-air shopping centre. A place to shop duty-free, between exclusive boutiques and craft shops fully breathing and walking through the mountains.

Wonderful stay

Our stay at the Forcola Chalet has been perfect! The apartment consists of two bedrooms and two fully equipped bathrooms. The living room/kitchenette area is large and equipped with everything you need. We never had problems finding parking for our two cars, which we parked in front of the house.
